I'm currently in my third year of Bachelor of Information Technology Network Security at NSI Higher Education. I chose to do this course because it offered content other courses didn't have. A Bachelor of Information Technology is a very broad subject where it is possible to major in a topic but for me that wasn't enough. I have always wanted to do Network Security as a profession so it was natural for me to do a degree specialising in Network Security. In addition to Network Security I am interested in electronics and mechanics.
What do these interests have in common? Understanding, I find great satisfaction in understanding how parts interact to form the larger system, whether that is making a 3D printer from scratch or designing a network or designing a suspension system for a 4wd. The key is understanding concepts in order to form your own opinions rather than just following other people's theories blindly.
